Introduction KA - Singapore

Koothanallur Association (Singapore) is serving descendants from Koothanallur, India in promoting educational, moral, cultural, social, business, and recreational aspirations of members and their families, through various initiatives, projects, and activities. On the 5th of October 1996, Koothanallur Family Club (Singapore) was officially registered with Registry of Societies (ROS), Singapore. In 2004, the name was changed to Koothanallur Association (KA).

Over the last 25 years, Koothanallur Association has been encouraging family bondage, friendship, and understanding among members. Although, KA’s focus has been the betterment and well-being of our Koothanallur community, KA has also stepped up to the social responsibility, of servicing to the Singaporean society at large.

Koothanallur is a town in Thiruvarur District, in Tamil Nadu, India. It is located 350 kilometers south of state capital Chennai. It is lying on the route between Mannargudi and Thiruvarur. The Koothanallur municipality covers an area of 12.31 square kilometers. It has a population of about 25,000 and which is predominantly Muslim community.

Our People

Early settlers from Koothanallur have made Singapore their home for more than 120 years. They came here to work, start business, engage in trading and to set up family. Today, we have the fourth generation Koothanallurians who are from different walks of life. Currently, we have more than 300 Koothanallur families and about 2500 Koothanallurians residing in Singapore. We have Koothanallurians who are grassroots leaders, entrepreneurs, businessmen, and professionals in many essential fields of our economy like doctors, lawyers, deans, lecturers, teachers, heads of department, managers, and engineers.

Over the last 25 years, Koothanallur Association has been encouraging family bondage, friendship, and understanding among members. Our vision and mission is to build a united Koothanallurian community in Singapore, thrive and prosper in an environment of goodwill, respect and cooperation and to help underprivileged individuals and families thrive and prosper through joint communal efforts.

Collective efforts by our community have strengthened Singapore’s social compact. 

We steer the young to have a good start in life, give more to those with less, and enable our people to bounce back from adversity and prosper through joint communal efforts.
